Pendennis: British Craftsmanship on a Global Stage

Pendennis operates a custom superyacht build and refit facility in Falmouth, UK, and is one of the world’s leading shipyards, with nearly 40 years of heritage. The full-service yard accommodates yachts up to 100m, and to date, has built more than 30 bespoke superyachts and completed refits on over 350 vessels.

The Falmouth site employs over 400 skilled tradespeople and support staff. In-house specialists—including CAD teams, exterior outfitters, joiners, electricians, engineers, fabricators and painters—provide control and accountability throughout each stage of a project.

Key infrastructure includes two fully enclosed 75m dry docks (combinable into a single 150m dock), two 90m construction halls, a 45m construction hall and a 7,564m² enclosed non-tidal wet basin. The yard is further supported by an 800-tonne travel hoist, comprehensive refit workshops, an 80m mast hall, crew facilities, a hospitality suite and a private helicopter pad. These capabilities enable the handling of larger yachts and the delivery of in-water services on site, improving efficiency and client convenience.

Refit and restoration are central to Pendennis’ expertise. Projects range from reconfiguring interior layouts and extending exterior entertainment areas to comprehensive heritage restorations that preserve original character while integrating modern systems and technologies. The yard has worked on some of the world’s most iconic yachts, combining technical precision with respect for each vessel’s pedigree.

Pendennis has also established a strong reputation for delivering fully custom sailing and motor yachts. Each build is managed from concept to completion in close collaboration with many of the world’s leading naval architects and yacht designers, followed by continued support throughout the yacht’s operational life. Notable projects include award-winning refits such as G2 and Aquila, restorations of Marala and Malahne, and recent new builds including Halekai, Hemisphere, Fox and Vijonara.
